- Parent Council

Parents

Parents play an active role in the life of our high school and are the pillars of our school community.

We would like to acknowledge the many ways in which parents are involved in our school and the many services they provide.

A core group of parents is involved in the Parent Council and oversees the work of the Council’s many projects, which include:  Parent Council Lecture Series, The Healthy Lunch Program, College Alumni Advising, Sports Boosters, Safety, and Library Volunteers.  Many parents participate in these volunteer programs.

All of our parents in each of the four classes – 9th through 12th – serve as Hospitality Ambassadors at all of the school’s major events, such as Open Houses, Winter Concert, Holiday Lunch, Founders Night, among others. This ambassadorial role is evidence of how important our parents are to the life of the school. Parents find this work of providing hospitality at our major events to be one of the most satisfying and enjoyable efforts in which they participate.

Parents are also invited to “parent evenings” during the school year to meet with the faculty sponsors of their student's class and the other parents of the class. Sponsors give an overview of the current curriculum, and parents share information about parenting issues.

The faculty and staff maintain open lines of communication with parents concerning student and school issues, and our parents are a major resource in this regard.
