Giving
Like every successful independent school, San Francisco Waldorf School has an active and diverse development program focused on expanding the philanthropic support of its programs and facilities.

The function of the development program is to build a broad-based community of individuals who are keenly interested in the sustainability of San Francisco Waldorf School. It is an ongoing process, building from year to year, and success can be measured not only by the number of dollars raised but also by the number of new friends and supporters who become donors and event participants each year. Particularly in independent school communities, where the parent body bears a major portion of the financial responsibility through their contracted contributions of tuition, it is essential that a broad network of friends and donors be developed in the wider community. It is also extremely important to retain relationships with existing supporters when their relationship to the school changes – parents become alumni parents, students become alumni, and so on.
Gifts come to the school in many forms, including – but certainly not limited to – volunteer support of programs (helping out in a craft class, for example), volunteer support of events, in-kind donations of materials and equipment for use in the classroom or the offices, donations of items for the Spring Night Auction, the purchase of Scrip for use at local stores, forgiveness of a Building Fund Loan, cash gifts to the Annual Fund Appeal or in support of the Capital Campaign, and even automobiles given through the Car Program.
Each and every one of these forms of giving is important to the financial and social well-being of the school and its community, and each is deeply appreciated.
